Paul W. Silvis

With Paul W. Silvis, looking for his next venture in the Web 2.0 world he began to look out into the future of what people would need. A huge fan of Cardomain and facebook Paul saw the growing trend towards more user based web sites. Seeing this trend, and loving all things with an engine, he thought that a community for others like him who love to 4-wheel, dirt-bike, jet ski, snowmobile, and cars thought that there could be something to this. Upon Paul creating his first successful self-sustaining web site SponsorPaintball.com he now had advanced skills of programming with languages like PHP, MYSQL, HTML, javascript and CSS. Being A Computer Science Major at Penn State University, he knew all their is to know about object oriented coding, which would later take Speed Country's potential to new heights. However looking more closely to the actual code, and not the overall schema of a user based project. Paul was limited to not being able to spend the time he needed on making sure the site flowed, the database was properly designed for maximum growth, and as little repetition as possible he saw a need for a partner.

Mike P. Silvis

At a similar time, Mike P. Silvis was working on his ventures of developing aesthetically pleasing sites, with good dynamic flow using advanced CSS tactics as well as his knowledge in his own personal background of Information Sciences and Technology from Penn State helping him to see what makes a successful site tick. Mike thought that with his similar skills as Paul in PHP, MYSQL, HTML, javascript and CSS developed a similar site. He would take his extreme sports team to a new height of a user based web site known as Axiom-Films.com This site was Mike's first attempt at developing a truly user based site to help promote his personal extreme sports team. From what Mike learned in IST 220 (Database Design and Management) he had created a small database, with as little repetition as possible, maximizing all of the capabilities of a SQL database. However Mike's PHP skills lacked severely, he found it hard to manipulate his coded to allow for data as simple as User Names to be displayed multiple times. He was able to Make Axiom Films work, but any larger of a project and it would have failed Miserably

Together as a Team

Now with two cousins, under the same family name coming together each with a different set of abilities each seeking a partner, what better place to look for a partner then within your own family. It is known that IST majors, while looking at technology in more of a business aspect and CMPSC majors looking at the endless possibilities that a computer can obtain, separate from each other and limited but, while joined together it is a known fact that the two majors go hand and hand and with each other and can achieve endless possibilities. As our own entrepreneurs we look out into the technology driven world for the possibilities of furthering our selves and making other's lives better in the process will truly be all that in can. Silvisions is born.

Our Promise For Speed Country

We promise as a team to develop and maintain, only the highest quality of a user based community we can develop. With us still underdevelopment however we realize that it is impossible to obtain this. If you see any bugs, problems, holes or would just like to hop aboard our project we would love to here from you. Any User Suggestions that you see Facebook, Twitter, MySpace do that we currently do not support please let us know and we will work our hardest to develop these tools. As we look into the future we also want to be on top of the competition and develop things that do not even exist yet. If you develop an idea for Speed Country that you think will put us on the map, or even web site idea that you think is top notch we are willing to pay you accordingly. Please email us at admin@speedcountry.com with your comments or suggestions.
